Some favorite moments from our GRiT (Girls Riding $Some favorite moments from our GRiT (Girls Riding Trails) program: 1. Eighth grader Molly fighting until the finish to maintain her podium position. She has been such a great role model to the younger girls. 2. Seventh grader Brooke celebrating the completion of her first race ever! 3. Seventh grader Lizzie bolting down the rock drop feature at Pioneer Park. Two weeks prior, she insisted that she would likely never try it. 4. Seventh grader Bridgett proudly being called up to the front row starting line at race #3 after continually improving her performance at each prior race. 5. Seventh grader Jillian making the podium at her second race ever! She started in the very back after missing the prior race but simply passed multiple girls, just like we worked on in practice, and never gave up until 20 yards AFTER the finish line, just like we ask the kids to do. 6. Sixth grader Grace showed up to our first practice with such humility and helpfulness that she gladly went with several new girls on our skills clinic even though she was already an incredibly competent rider who had raced before. She has been a true inspiration for our 6th grade girls, often looking back at them from the podium. 7. Sixth grader Cara high fiving coach Camryn (a PHS alumni) after completing a trail that she previously deemed impossible to ride. Cara decided to give racing a try shortly after. 8. Sixth grader Chloe with another photo finish, beating her rival by a fraction of a second before pushing even harder at the next race to make her first podium. 9. We found this sweet loaner bike for sixth grader Ashlynn after she had outgrown her own. It was full time full send after that, including multiple top 10 race placements despite this being her first year racing. 10. Sixth grader Zoey telling her coach, “I think biking is my new thing!” 30 Badgers on the team and 10 of them are girls!. This is #moregirlsonbikes with #grit! Huge thanks to Chloe Woodruff, Coach Sabrina, Coach Lorrie, Coach Shelley, Coach Camryn (PHS alumni), Coach Sami (PHS alumni), Coach Julie, Kate Phelan from Soul Ride, Laurie Horton from PMBA, and our female PHS mentors Lucy, Claire, and Braxtyn!$
