How to Join

There are no tryouts for our team and all skill levels are welcome. However, EACH FAMILY MUST BRIEFLY MEET WITH THE HEAD COACH PRIOR TO REGISTERING, either at the information night held in late April / early May or individually by phone. This step is mandated to ensure an understanding of the unique aspects of our team, including additional fees, irregular practice schedules and locations, equipment requirements, and to ensure that no medical restrictions will present a conflict.

After receiving approval to register from the head coach, the following steps must be completed:

Mandatory Registrations:

1. Register with the Arizona Cycling Association. This link will open the CCN Bikes website (not affiliated with PUSD) in a new window. Additional instructions are detailed on that page, including how to obtain the registration passcode. Any questions or concerns with this form may be posted to registration@arizonacycling.org.
2. Register with the Mile High Middle School Athletic Department. This link will open in a new window to a PUSD form. Any questions or concerns with this form may be posed to the Mile High Middle School office.

Mandatory Fees:

• $125 membership to the Arizona Cycling Association (ACA), paid directly to the ACA during registration step #1, above.
• $110 school sports fee (per sport), which is tax credit eligible, payable via one of two methods:
  • Online at the PUSD Webstore by selecting “Mile High” as school and “Athletics” as the item. Paying this fee online will generate a convenient email receipt for tax credit purposes. DO NOT select “mountain bike activities,” which is for additional donations beyond student registration fees.
  • Cash or check made out to “Mile High Middle School” with “school sports fee” in the memo field and provided to the Mile High Middle School office, who will issue a tax credit receipt.
• $35 purchase of a team jersey (yours to keep), payable by cash or check (separate from the school sports fee payment) made out to “Mile High Middle School” with “MTB jersey” in the memo field and provided to the Mile High MIddle School office. This fee is for goods received and is thus not tax deductible.

Optional Fees:

• $150 season race package or $60 per individual race, paid directly to the ACA league via their Race Registration form.
• Various apparel options (tee shirts, hoodies, etc) are sold at cost, typically around $20 – $40.
